Melo Omat
At Recalibrate Retreat, we believe healing doesn’t only happen in stillness—it also happens in movement.
We are honored to welcome Melo Omat, an accomplished choreographer, dancer, youth mentor, and founder of Uplift 514. For decades, Melo has been bringing people together through the universal language of dance, creating spaces where joy, connection, and freedom take center stage.
His philosophy, “Dance First, Think Later,” is a powerful reminder that sometimes the body knows the way before the mind does.
Melo and I first collaborated through Dance for Congo, a community event that brought people together from all walks of life to celebrate culture, connection, and purpose. What made the event so special wasn’t just the dancing—it was witnessing complete strangers become a community. People laughed, moved, connected, and left feeling lighter than when they arrived. It was truly a class-act gathering that reminded us how powerful collective joy can be.
Born from Congolese roots and inspired by a global journey, Melo has shared his talents internationally and performed alongside artists including Burna Boy, Dadju, and Wizkid. Beyond the stage, his greatest passion remains helping people reconnect to themselves through movement.
Throughout Recalibrate Retreat, Melo will lead our evening movement and somatic release sessions, guiding us through rhythm, dance, and embodied expression.
These sessions are not about getting the steps right.
They are about releasing what no longer serves you.
They are about feeling alive.
They are about remembering that joy is medicine.
Because sometimes the most profound healing happens when we stop overthinking…
and simply dance first, think later.
